The well drained granitic soils and pockets of exposed rocks provide an opportunity to manage vine growth with controlled irrigation inputs and the rolling hills provide a range of microclimates that contribute to both complexity and uniqueness of grape and wine style.

About The Vineyard

Here at the Tiklewoodi vineyard we aim to produce grapes in a way that minimises our environmental footprint. Our management program embraces the principles of integrated pest management which enables us to minimise pesticide inputs.

Our approach to weed management ensures that controls are implemented only when required as many “weeds” provide shelter and feed for beneficial species in the vineyard. In the Winter months sheep are introduced for weed control and nutrient cycling and during the growing season all efforts are made to enhance and protect the natural biological controls available on the site.
